NotchNook is the best known paid notch app for the Mac, made by lo.cafe. It is also the one Dynamic Notch gets compared to most, so here is the comparison written out properly, including where NotchNook wins.

Where NotchNook is the better pick
Five Macs on the one-time licence, against our two. If you have a laptop, a desktop and a machine at the office, $25 once for five devices is better value than €14.99 for two, and it is not close.
Twenty-nine languages, against our three. Dynamic Notch is in English, Italian and Spanish. If your Mac runs in German, Japanese or Polish, NotchNook speaks your language and we do not.
It is on Setapp. If you already pay for Setapp, NotchNook is included and costs you nothing extra. That is an argument we cannot answer.
Where Dynamic Notch is the better pick
It costs about half, and never asks again. €14.99 once against $25 once, and no subscription exists at all — there is nothing to forget to cancel.
It runs on macOS 14.0, not 14.6. A small difference that stops mattering the moment you are on the wrong side of it.
Clipboard history that refuses passwords. The last 50 things you copied, kept on your Mac. It skips what macOS marks as concealed and, because macOS does not always mark them, also refuses anything copied while a password manager is frontmost. The second rule exists because measurement showed the first was not enough: seven leaks in four hundred marked copies.
Voice memos that come back as text, normalised before transcription so a memo recorded at arm's length is still readable.
A focus timer that counts down in the notch and opens the panel by itself when it expires.
A browser video, moved into the notch. A YouTube video playing in Safari, Chrome, Brave, Edge, Vivaldi or Arc lifts into a small player under the notch, resuming at the second the tab had reached and handed back when you are done. As far as we know no other notch app does this.
So which one
Take NotchNook if you have more than two Macs, if your Mac does not run in English, Italian or Spanish, or if you already pay for Setapp.
Take Dynamic Notch if you want the clipboard, the voice memos, the timer and the browser video, if you would rather pay once and pay less, or if you are on an older macOS 14.
